The President rejected suggestions that he is influenced by a “cabal” in implementing his administration’s economic reforms. “I have no cabal or sponsors. The funds used for the election were entirely my own. Despite facing significant challenges, including bank closures, I was guided by the Almighty,” Tinubu stated. He emphasized that having a clear conscience is crucial for defending against corruption and focusing on the future of the nation’s children.

Tinubu cautioned that protests driven by anger and hatred could lead to violence and setbacks for the country. He highlighted his administration’s efforts to enhance the social welfare system, including expanding support at the ward level, providing student loans for educational expenses, and introducing consumer credit to aid in purchasing cars and homes. Additionally, he noted a more than 100 percent increase in the minimum wage.

The President criticized protest sponsors for prioritizing personal ambitions over national interests, alleging that they lack genuine patriotism and are often based abroad. “These individuals do not truly care for our country. They are disconnected from our realities and use virtual platforms to spread discontent,” Tinubu said. He urged caution against premature and divisive politics, warning against the dangers of fostering anger and conflict.
