During a meeting on Tuesday with various groups including youth organizations, students, market associations, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC), and civil society organizations, Eno stressed that economic challenges should be addressed through conversation rather than conflict. He highlighted that Akwa Ibom stands to benefit more from a peaceful and stable environment.
“Maintaining peace is essential for the success of our state’s economic development under the ARISE Agenda,” Eno stated. “Though we respect the right to protest, our state thrives in an atmosphere of peace and harmony. Let’s collaborate to build a brighter future for Akwa Ibom.”
He further noted that the state has long upheld a reputation for peace and urged those considering participating in protests to do so peacefully and to prevent any disruption from miscreants.
