This directive was announced by Police spokesperson Josephine Adeh on Sunday. She stated, “The Commissioner of Police FCT Command has directed me to inform all journalists covering the national protests to properly dress in their media organization attire and bring valid identification.”

This announcement follows an incident where police and State Security Service (SSS) personnel allegedly shot at journalists covering the protest at Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.

Additionally, the Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested Micheal Lenin, a leader of the #Endbadgovernance protests in Abuja. According to Naija News, Lenin was detained early Monday morning at his residence in Apo. Damilare Adenola, Director of Mobilisation for the Take It Back Movement, confirmed the raid and alleged that DSS operatives assaulted Lenin during the arrest.
