Osun State joined the nationwide EndBadGovernance protests that began on August 1, 2024, with the event set to conclude on August 10, 2024.

Governor Adeleke, through his spokesperson Olawale Rasheed, commended the organizers for their patriotism and their resistance to attempts by certain groups to exploit the protest for personal gain. He noted, “We have observed the organizers’ commitment to maintaining peaceful demonstrations despite various pressures. I am pleased with their rejection of attempts by malevolent forces to disrupt the peace of our state. Their dedication to peaceful expression is commendable.”

He urged the protesters to continue their peaceful approach and assured them that their concerns would be addressed. “We will review the issues affecting us as a state government and forward the rest to the President in Abuja. As the President works at the national level, we are supporting his efforts as a government that represents and serves the people.”

Adeleke emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing the needs and aspirations of the citizens. “We understand the difficulties faced by our people and are working diligently to improve their lives. Our food security implementation committee is actively working to increase food supply, support farmers, stabilize food prices, and enhance access to food, including introducing modern farming equipment.”

He also extended his gratitude to security personnel and stakeholders for their role in maintaining peace in Osun.
