Speaking at the Ibo Uzo Festival of the Chinyereugo Age Grade in Ugwueke, Bende LGA, the Governor, represented by his Deputy Ikechukwu Emetu, highlighted that Abia’s strategic location, bordering seven states—four in the South-East and three in the South-South—complicates boundary issues.
Governor Otti assured that these boundary matters would be addressed at the upcoming National Boundary Commission meeting scheduled for August 12-13. He expressed optimism that the meeting would advance the delineation of Abia’s boundaries with neighboring states, including Ugwueke and Akaeze in Ebonyi State.
He praised the Ibo Uzo Festival as a vital cultural event for the Isieke people, noting its potential to boost local development and attract tourism.
Governor Otti also commended Johnson Chukwu for constructing a civic center, which he believes will enhance human capital development and foster community collaboration.
In his address, former Anambra State Governor and 2023 Labour Party Presidential candidate Peter Obi urged leaders to view their roles as a divine calling to serve.
