On Saturday, Akpabio and his Senate colleagues visited Ubah’s widow, Uchenna, at their residence in Lagos. In a statement released by his Special Assistant on Media, Jackson Udom, Akpabio recounted his initial reaction to the tragic news, describing his profound shock and grief. He recalled receiving the call about Ubah’s death and how the news had left him unable to continue the conversation due to the shock.

Akpabio described Ubah as a significant figure in the 10th Senate and expressed regret over not being able to reconnect with the family sooner. He assured Uchenna and her children of the Senate’s support, emphasizing that while the death was a profound loss, they would stand by the family through the mourning period and the preparation for a fitting tribute.

Speaking to Ubah’s children, Akpabio encouraged them to cherish their father’s memory and remain strong, reminding them that while death is inevitable, they should be proud of honoring their father’s legacy.

On behalf of the 10th Senate, Akpabio offered support to the family, pledging to assist in ensuring a respectful farewell for Ubah. He expressed his sorrow and prayers for the family’s strength.
