A community member, who chose to remain anonymous, identified the victim as Amadu Suru, who was shot while trying to secure his animals. According to him, the bandits infiltrated the village on Sunday night, raiding selected homes. Women and children were primarily targeted for abduction, though some managed to escape through dense farms. As of now, 28 people remain in captivity.

Residents reported that the bandits expressed satisfaction over Ango’s death, citing his previous marriage to an ex-wife of one of their members as a motive, despite multiple warnings.
