In a statement issued by Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, on Wednesday, Tinubu expressed his condolences to Bawa’s family, the Gobir Emirate, and the Sokoto State government. He offered prayers for the traditional ruler’s soul and comfort for his family during this difficult time.
Tinubu reassured Nigerians that his administration is committed to aggressively addressing security threats and countering acts of terrorism effectively.
Before his death, Bawa, along with his son, brother, and six others, was kidnapped about 22 days ago along the Sokoto-Sabon Birni Road. In a distressing video that surfaced on social media, the 74-year-old monarch had appealed for help, stating, “I want to call on my people, my lovers, my friends, and my leader to know that it has come to an end today, Wednesday.
