According to SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, the police spokesperson, the arrest took place on August 19, 2024, during a stop-and-search operation on the Jos-Bauchi road. Dan-Anacha, a resident of Anguwan Bauchi in Jos, Plateau State, was found with the concealed weapon.
Dan-Anacha claimed he had been associated with the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Jos for 32 years. The investigation revealed he intended to deliver the rifle to someone in Gombe State.
The police are currently investigating Dan-Anacha’s motives and any potential connections. Under the leadership of CP Auwal Musa Muhammad, the command reaffirms its commitment to combating criminal activities and ensuring community safety.
