Oyintiloye expressed disappointment that many Nigerians expected an end to the fuel shortage crisis following the removal of the fuel subsidy. However, the situation has only deteriorated, causing significant hardship.

He emphasized the urgent need for the President to intervene, as Nigerians are suffering nearly every month due to the unavailability of fuel. “Nigerians believed that the fuel scarcity would be resolved after the Federal Government removed the fuel subsidy. Unfortunately, instead of seeing improvements, the situation has worsened, forcing Nigerians to buy fuel at exorbitant prices,” Oyintiloye said.

He also urged President Tinubu to investigate the operations of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) to identify the underlying causes of the persistent fuel shortages.

While recognizing the broader economic challenges the country is facing, Oyintiloye argued that the fuel supply crisis is exacerbating the already difficult situation. “In recent months, Nigerians have encountered severe difficulties in obtaining petroleum products at filling stations nationwide,” he observed. “I appeal to the President to take action and alleviate the immense hardship Nigerians are currently enduring due to the fuel scarcity,” he added.
