According to Naija News, the NYSC made this announcement through its official X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday.

The statement read: “ATTENTION ALL 2024 BATCH ‘B’ STREAM II MARRIED FEMALE PROSPECTIVE CORPS MEMBERS. All married female Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) who are deployed to states where their husbands are not domiciled should report to the nearest NYSC Orientation Camp to request a change of state.”

The NYSC further instructed that these candidates should report to the Orientation Camps during the registration period with copies of their marital documents and other relevant paperwork as proof. Once the redeployment is processed, the change will be updated on their dashboard for reprinting of their call-up letters.

Additionally, the NYSC provided important guidelines for prospective corps members:

1. Avoid traveling to the Orientation Camps at night. Take breaks during your journey if necessary.
2. Ensure you arrive on your scheduled reporting date.
3. Correct any spelling errors or name rearrangements on your dashboard.
4. Once documentation is completed in the camp, changes to Date of Birth, Date of Graduation, Course of Study, and Passport Photograph will not be permitted.
5. Do not report to the camp if there are discrepancies between your course of study or Date of Graduation on your Statement of Result and your Call-up Letter. Contact your institution to resolve any issues.

Naija News also highlights that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is a program established by the Nigerian government to involve graduates in nation-building and development activities. The program, which was launched on May 22, 1973, under Decree No. 24, aims to promote national unity and foster connections among Nigeria’s youth.

To be eligible for the NYSC, graduates must be under 30 years old at the time of their graduation. Those who exceed this age limit receive a Certificate of Exemption, which holds the same value as the NYSC Discharge Certificate. After successfully completing the service year, corps members are awarded a certificate confirming their satisfactory participation.
