President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed satisfaction with the recent string of successful military operations targeting security threats in Nigeria’s northwest region. In a statement issued on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President emphasized that these victories reinforce his confidence in the capabilities of the nation’s security forces to maintain peace and stability.

The operations, carried out by troops of Operation Hadarin Daji, led to the elimination of Halilu Sububu, a notorious bandit leader responsible for terrorizing communities in Zamfara, Sokoto, and other parts of the northwest. Additionally, the troops neutralized another high-profile terrorist, Sani Wala Burki, during a joint operation in Katsina, while successfully dismantling a terrorist hideout in Kaduna, where 13 kidnapped students were rescued.

These achievements follow President Tinubu’s directive for service chiefs to relocate to the troubled zones until normalcy is fully restored.

In his reaction, President Tinubu commended the military leadership, intelligence agencies, and frontline troops for their bravery, coordination, and unwavering commitment, which have led to these commendable outcomes. He further acknowledged the efforts of the entire security apparatus in enhancing the nation’s safety.

The President urged the security forces to maintain momentum and ensure that both immediate and long-term threats are fully eradicated. He also reassured them of his administration’s continued support in realizing the primary goal of safeguarding Nigeria.
