The Osun State government has ramped up its efforts to implement Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) conversion as part of a broader initiative to promote cleaner energy alternatives within the state. Governor Ademola Adeleke made this announcement, emphasizing the government’s dedication to enhancing sustainable energy practices while reducing reliance on traditional fuels.

Speaking during a recent event, Governor Adeleke highlighted the strategic importance of CNG in improving both environmental sustainability and economic efficiency. “We are fully committed to this transition to CNG as it will not only improve the air quality in our state but also reduce energy costs for our people,” the Governor stated.

The conversion to CNG, according to the governor, will play a critical role in reducing carbon emissions, fostering a healthier environment, and encouraging the use of locally sourced natural gas. He added that the government is collaborating with industry stakeholders to ensure the smooth rollout of the CNG conversion initiative across the state.

Osun State is set to lead in the national drive toward alternative energy, with the governor assuring residents of his administration’s commitment to providing the necessary infrastructure and incentives to make CNG conversion both accessible and affordable for citizens.

Governor Adeleke also reaffirmed that the initiative is part of his administration’s broader energy transition plan, which aims to reduce the state’s dependence on fossil fuels and promote green energy sources for a sustainable future.
