After voting, Soludo spoke with journalists and expressed his satisfaction with the smooth conduct of the election. He noted that reports indicated a peaceful election process across all 21 local government areas in the state.

The governor encouraged voters to come out and participate in the election.

He stated, “I commend the state’s Independent Electoral Commission for their timely start to the voting process. This exercise reflects a promise kept and serves as a significant example of how Local Government elections can be conducted transparently and credibly.

“From the reports I received before casting my vote, people are voting peacefully. As you can see, the election is proceeding smoothly here and in other parts of the state. We’re seeing great enthusiasm, with widespread support for our achievements. We are the only party that has fielded candidates for all 21 chairmanship and 326 councillorship positions.

“What is happening in the state feels like a mock referendum, and we are optimistic that the will of the people will prevail.”
