Speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Sulaiman Idris, the governor urged bandits and terrorists in the region to surrender their arms. He stated, “You don’t negotiate with killers while they still wield dangerous weapons. They need to surrender to the authorities first, and then we can consider the next steps.”

Lawal noted that there has been no sign of remorse from the bandits, especially since many of their leaders were killed during the ongoing military operation dubbed “Ceton Arewa,” which commenced a few weeks ago. He affirmed that the bombardment will continue until they finally surrender.

Additionally, a senior officer in the Nigerian Air Force, speaking anonymously, confirmed that the NAF will persist in its aerial assaults on terrorists until Zamfara is free of criminal activities. The officer stated, “NAF will continue to carry out its constitutional responsibility to protect Nigeria’s territorial integrity. We conduct multiple air interdictions daily in the region.”
