The Federal High Court in Abuja, led by Justice Emeka Nwite, ruled that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) must officially recognize Julius Abure as the legitimate Chairman of the Labour Party.
In light of this development, Obi emphasized the importance of continued dialogue and consultation, urging members to stay focused on the issues affecting the populace. The former Governor of Anambra State acknowledged that the journey toward creating a new Nigeria would inevitably face challenges.
He stated, “Yesterday, Governor Alex Otti and I, along with the Caretaker Chairman and Secretary of the Labour Party, gathered to discuss and review recent developments, including the judgment delivered by an Abuja High Court on the same day. I urge all members of the Labour Party to remain calm and patient as we continue to engage in discussions and consultations.”
Obi reiterated the party’s commitment to emerging stronger and more unified, urging members not to let the ruling distract them from addressing pressing issues facing the people. He concluded, “We have always known that the task of creating a new Nigeria will not come without challenges.
