Leadership Dispute: PDP Spokesman And Legal Adviser SuspendedThe National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the suspension of its National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, and National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN). According to Nnorom, a committee led by Deputy National Chairman (South), Taofeek Arapaja, has been established to investigate the allegations against the officers in line with the party’s Constitution. The statement read, “The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), at its 593rd Meeting on Thursday, October 10, 2024, has directed the National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, and National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Adeyemi Ajibade, SAN, to step aside.”

As a result, the NWC has set up a committee, chaired by Taofeek Arapaja, to investigate the concerns raised against the officers in compliance with the party’s constitutional provisions. The statement further directed their deputies to assume office in an acting capacity starting Friday, October 11, 2024, pending the outcome of the investigation. The new acting officers are Ibrahim Abdullahi Manga as Acting National Publicity Secretary and Okechukwu Osuoha as Acting National Legal Adviser.

The NWC urged party leaders, stakeholders, members, and supporters to remain focused and committed to the progress of the PDP as it manages the day-to-day operations of the party.
