In a post shared via his X account, Obi specifically condemned the ambush that tragically claimed the lives of several Supersport TV crew members and a policeman along the Ihiala-Orlu Road in Anambra State. Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, highlighted that this incident is part of a larger, worsening security situation in the country, with non-state actors inflicting pain on countless families by kidnapping and killing victims in increasingly brutal ways. He expressed his sorrow for the victims of the Supersport crew and extended his concern to other recent attacks, including a terror assault in Benue State’s Agatu Local Government Area, which left several people dead and injured.

He stressed the need for swift action to prevent further loss of life and to restore security in affected regions.
