President Tinubu Announces Measures To Combat Power Outages In Northern NigeriaPresident Bola Tinubu has directed the implementation of robust security measures for personnel to facilitate the swift restoration of power supply to Nigeria’s northern region. Adelabu explained that repairs for the damages causing power outages in the north should ideally take no longer than three to five days. However, the ongoing delays are attributed to insecurity in the affected areas.

He revealed that President Tinubu has tasked the National Security Adviser and relevant security agencies with ensuring the safety of repair crews. During a press briefing, Adelabu stated, ā€œUnder standard temperature and pressure (STP), a transmission line can be fixed within three to five days, provided there are no security threats and the safety of workers is assured.ā€

He further emphasized that the escalation of the situation is due to the inability to guarantee the safety of personnel. The President has assured that he has instructed the NSA, Chief of Defence Staff, Chief of Army Staff, and Chief of Air Staff to ensure adequate security for those undertaking the repairs.
