Naija News previously reported that the police condemned his use of the uniform and launched an investigation into the incident. In the controversial clip, VeryDarkMan humorously identified himself as a “Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) of the Online Division.”

In response to the backlash, he released an apology video on Thursday, expressing regret for donning attire that closely resembles official police gear. He emphasized the importance of obtaining proper authorization before wearing police uniforms to avoid misunderstandings or legal issues.

“Back from the police station where I was interrogated regarding my post in which I wore a costume resembling theirs. I never intended to impersonate the police, and I sincerely apologize to the Nigeria Police Force and the Inspector General of Police,” VeryDarkMan stated.

He also urged the public to seek permission from law enforcement agencies before using any attire that could be mistaken for police uniforms, highlighting the potential for misuse.

“While some may have good intentions, others may not. It’s important to get approval before using anything that could be seen as impersonating @nigeriapoliceforce,” he advised.

He concluded by thanking his lawyer, stating, “Shout out to my lawyer @adeyanjudeji for always being there to support me.
