The party views Gummi’s move as a betrayal, both to the PDP and to the constituents of Gummi/Bukkuyum who entrusted him with their mandate.

PDP spokesperson, Andi Haliru, issued a statement in Gusau, highlighting that Gummi’s defection took place without any internal party conflict, indicating a lack of commitment to the party’s principles and values.

In light of this situation, the PDP plans to pursue legal action to contest Gummi’s defection, reaffirming its dedication to restoring the mandate given to him by the people of Gummi/Bukkuyum.

“We firmly believe his actions undermine the democratic process and the trust placed in him by his constituents. Consequently, the PDP state chapter will take legal steps to challenge Hon. Gummi’s defection. We are determined to ensure that the mandate given to him is rightfully restored.

“We want to assure the residents of Gummi and Bukkuyum Local Government Areas that the PDP remains strong and united. Our commitment to serving you and safeguarding your interests is unwavering. We will fight vigorously to reclaim the trust compromised by this decision,” the party stated.
