Concerns are rising that the blaze could spread to nearby structures if not quickly contained. The Delta State Fire Service personnel, who responded to the scene around 8:43 PM, faced a shortage of water, hindering their efforts to put out the flames engulfing the building, which houses Current FM.

Law enforcement officers are on-site to prevent any disturbances or looting from individuals seeking to take advantage of the situation, according to reports from Daily Post.

Meanwhile, in Nasarawa State, another fire outbreak occurred on Friday morning, completely destroying several shops at the Lafia modern market. The fire, which started around 9:45 AM, caused extensive damage, with properties worth millions of naira lost.

Joshua Ombugu, Director of the Fire Service in Nasarawa, confirmed that the blaze originated from a nearby dumpsite. While properties valued at ₦150 million were destroyed, firefighters managed to save items worth ₦10 million. Thankfully, no lives were lost in the incident.
