In a statement signed on Thursday by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, the Governor emphasized that his administration is committed to reclaiming assets that rightfully belong to the people.

Mutfwang also cautioned against the illegal sale and acquisition of government properties, warning that those involved will face serious consequences.

“We are determined to recover all government properties currently in illegal possession or occupation across the state and beyond. To this end, a proactive task force will soon be inaugurated to investigate and recover assets sold without due process,” the Governor announced.

He added, “Anyone in possession of government property acquired illegally should return it immediately, or we will come for them. Similarly, those involved in unauthorized sales will be identified and punished accordingly. It’s only a matter of time before justice catches up with them.”

Governor Mutfwang also addressed the issue of fraudulent Certificates of Occupancy (C of O), assuring that offenders will not escape justice, regardless of their status.

“We will thoroughly investigate and deal decisively with holders of illegal C of Os. A grace period will be granted for voluntary surrender. However, if we must pursue recovery, offenders will bear the full cost of the process,” he declared.
