An analysis of the budget proposal, presented to the National Assembly, reveals that N5.49 billion will be spent on the annual maintenance of the Presidential Villa.

Specific allocations include N765 million for renovating the Vice President’s quarters and guest house, N6.39 million for the President’s quarters, and N49 million for the renovation of security quarters, the auditorium, gymnasium, and residential quarters for presidential aides.

Additionally, N51 million has been set aside for the renovation of Prescott Barracks, Maple State House officers’ mess, and the signal office in Asokoro, Abuja.

Other highlights of the budget include N87 million for honorarium and sitting allowances for the President and Vice President, N127 million for procuring SUVs, N3.66 billion for State House operational vehicles, and N1.09 billion for replacing SUVs at the State House.

The State House Lagos Liaison Office has been allocated N14.72 million for routine maintenance of facilities, including Dodan Barracks and the Vice President’s guest houses in Ikoyi. Another N140.1 million is for completing renovations and furnishing the State House annex in Lagos.

Furthermore, the government plans to spend N1.83 billion on converting properties forfeited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) into State House quarters.

This plan aligns with a recent EFCC recovery in Abuja’s Lokogoma District—a 753-unit estate, spanning 150,500 square meters—hailed as the commission’s largest asset recovery since its establishment in 2003.
