Politicians Behind Fubara’s Rise Are Secretly Targeting Wike, Says Abe
Former Senator Magnus Abe, who represented Rivers South-East, has accused politicians backing Governor Siminalayi Fubara of using him as a pawn to weaken Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Abe argued that these politicians are not supporting Fubara out of genuine affection for him or Rivers State, but rather for their own political gain.
Speaking at a New Year celebration hosted by Wike for Rivers State stakeholders on Friday, Abe remarked, “No one is with Governor Fubara because of their love for Rivers State or for Fubara. They are aligning with him because they see him as a vehicle to achieve their political goal—namely, to bring down the FCT Minister.”
Abe also highlighted that several of Fubara’s current supporters had engaged in anti-party activities during the elections, backing candidates from opposition parties.
“These politicians are only interested in advancing their own agendas. Once you are no longer useful to them in their efforts to undermine Wike, they will abandon you and seek another ally,” he warned. “My advice to you, sir, is to recognize that these individuals are not with you because they love Rivers State. True lovers of the state demonstrate their commitment through action, not by conspiring to tear down Wike.”
The senator urged politicians in Rivers to put aside differences and work together for the state’s welfare. He advised Fubara to collaborate with true patriots, stressing that failing to do so could jeopardize the state’s future.
“No governor can unilaterally declare the seats of legislators vacant,” Abe concluded. “Work with other patriots to protect the state.”
