President Bola Tinubu has approved the restructuring of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) in Zaria, Kaduna State, into six regional campuses. The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) announced the development on Wednesday via its official X account (formerly Twitter).

“The Nigerian College of Aviation Technology in Zaria, Kaduna State, will now operate as six campuses spread across the country’s geopolitical zones to boost efficiency and inclusivity,” the APC Ondo chapter stated.

The new campuses will be strategically located in:

  • Akure (Southwest)
  • Osubi (South-South)
  • Ebonyi (Southeast)
  • Ilorin (North Central)
  • Yola (Northeast)
  • Zaria (Northwest)

As a premier institution for aviation training in Nigeria, NCAT’s expansion is expected to foster regional inclusion, enhance the training of skilled personnel, and boost the nation’s aviation sector.

Meanwhile, the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, clarified recent reports about the launch of a national carrier. Kana explained that his remarks referred to a vision for a potential revival of a national carrier, which would only be implemented if deemed beneficial to the country.
