Darlington was initially arrested for alleged cyberstalking after claiming that Burna Boy’s Grammy win was linked to his connections with embattled American rapper, Diddy. Diddy, who has recently faced headlines for his legal battles with the FBI, is embroiled in multiple sex trafficking and rape allegations.
Following his release on bail in October, Darlington vowed to continue publicly criticizing Burna Boy until he received compensation. However, he was rearrested during a performance in Imo State on November 27, 2024, and detained in Kuje prison for over two months before finally regaining his freedom on January 21, 2025.
Reacting to Darlington’s release, Burna Boy took to Instagram on Tuesday night, issuing a sharp warning:
“If you like misbehave again, you’ll go back to where you come from! And this time around, there will be no mercy! Don’t m*ss with ODG.”
In response, Speed Darlington shared a symbolic video on his Instagram page Thursday, featuring two rams fiercely locking horns in battle. He captioned the clip with his own comeback:
“I’m back. To those fighting, one step back is not running away. He went to gather energy and launch back with a banger!”
