Sowore Sparks Controversy: “IBB, Obasanjo, Others Must Be Prosecuted For Abiola’s Injustice
Omoyele Sowore, former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has declared that Ibrahim Babangida (IBB), Olusegun Obasanjo, Abdulsalami Abubakar, and David Mark should be in jail.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
His statement follows a revelation by former Military Head of State, IBB, during the launch of his autobiography, A Journey of Service, on Thursday, where he admitted that Moshood Abiola won the annulled 1993 presidential election.
Reacting on (Twitter), Sowore asserted that IBB’s admission was enough reason for him, along with Obasanjo, Abubakar, and Mark, to be imprisoned.
“MKO Abiola won the June 12, 1993 election. He satisfied all the requirements to be declared President of Nigeria. Yet, Babangida, Obasanjo, Abubakar, and David Mark are still free. They should be in jail!” Sowore wrote.
Earlier on Thursday, Sowore had predicted that IBB would shift the blame for the annulled election onto former Military Head of State, Sani Abacha.
“Today, former Nigerian dictator Ibrahim Babangida will launch his book, where he will falsely blame the late General Sani Abacha—another ruthless dictator—for the annulment of the June 12 elections. By doing so, he will indirectly admit the elections were free and fair. Babangida’s narrative will be as false as his entire legacy!”
In his autobiography, IBB claimed that Abacha led the forces that annulled the election without his knowledge, a claim that Sowore and many Nigerians have dismissed as deceptive.
