This price adjustment was observed at several NNPCL retail outlets, where fuel dispensers have already been recalibrated to reflect the new rate.
While there has been no official announcement yet, some fuel marketers have confirmed the reduction.
The National Vice President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Hammed Fashola, told Punch that NNPCL is in the process of updating its portal with the revised price.
“Yes, NNPC is now selling petrol at ₦860 per litre at its filling stations. Although the update hasn’t been reflected on their portal yet, they assured me they are working on it,” Fashola stated.
Similarly, Billy Gillis-Harry, National President of the Petroleum Products Retail Outlet Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN), also confirmed the price drop.
“They reduced the pump price earlier this morning, but I’m still gathering details,” he said.
This development follows Dangote Refinery’s recent price cut, which saw a reduction of ₦65 per litre in the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).
Recall that on February 27, 2025, Dangote Refinery lowered its PMS ex-depot price from ₦890 to ₦825 per litre.
Under the new pricing structure, MRS outlets in Lagos are now selling petrol at ₦860 per litre.
