Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has made his first public appearance following his suspension from office and the declaration of a state of emergency in the state.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

On Sunday, Fubara was seen attending a worship service at the headquarters of Salvation Ministries in GRA, Port Harcourt, alongside his Chief of Staff, Edison Ehie.

His appearance comes just days after President Bola Tinubu imposed a state of emergency in Rivers State, citing rising political tensions and security concerns. As part of the directive, Fubara, his deputy, Prof. Ngozi Odu, and all members of the Rivers State House of Assembly were suspended. Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd.) was appointed as the Sole Administrator to oversee the state’s affairs for an initial six-month period.

The move has triggered mixed reactions from political figures, legal experts, and civil society organizations. Meanwhile, Ibas has quickly assumed his role, convening emergency security meetings with law enforcement agencies, traditional rulers, and local government heads. He also announced the release of withheld allocations and directed the immediate processing of payments for local government workers.

In addition, Ibas inspected the reconstruction of the Rivers State House of Assembly Complex, assuring that the project would be completed swiftly to restore governmental stability.

Amid the crisis, speculations arose that Governor Fubara had relocated to Bayelsa State following his suspension, but his public appearance in Port Harcourt has refuted such claims.
