As reported earlier, the apex court overturned the Appeal Court’s decision that had earlier affirmed Julius Abure as the party’s National Chairman.

In a statement issued on Monday, Senator Kingibe described the Supreme Court judgment as a strong reaffirmation of internal democracy and party independence.

“This ruling by the Supreme Court is a timely and powerful reinforcement of the rule of law and democratic principles within our party. It offers us the chance to rebuild and re-energize under leadership that is both purposeful and unifying,” she said.

Senator Kingibe also expressed confidence in Senator Nenadi Usman, who now leads the party’s Caretaker Committee, stating that her leadership would usher in a new era of growth and electoral success for the Labour Party.

“With Senator Nenadi Usman at the helm, I believe the Labour Party is on the path to a brighter future. Her leadership promises integrity, inclusiveness, and vision—qualities urgently needed to steer the party towards meaningful transformation,” Kingibe noted.

She emphasized that this turning point must be used to restore trust, restructure party systems, and chart a focused, transparent course forward.

Highlighting the importance of the Obidient movement, Kingibe stressed its role in revitalizing the party’s base.

“The Obidient movement represents a wave of democratic consciousness across the country. Integrating this passionate, forward-thinking group into the core of the Labour Party is not only necessary—it’s vital,” she said.

She called on all party members, both veterans and newcomers, to set aside their differences and unite for a common goal: delivering good governance, social justice, and a better future for all Nigerians.

“Now is the time to unite under a shared vision. With strong leadership and a renewed commitment to our core values, the Labour Party will emerge stronger and more united than ever,” she concluded.
