Power Shift Begins: PDP Releases Convention Timeline, Elevates Diri, Fintiri In Major Overhaul

The Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum (PDPGF) has scheduled May 27th, 2025 for its upcoming National Executive Council (NEC) meeting.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

According to reports, this decision was disclosed in a communique issued to journalists following the Forum’s meeting held on Monday in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The communique was signed by Bauchi State Governor and PDPGF Chairman, Bala Mohammed.

Additionally, the Forum announced that the party’s national convention will take place on August 28th, 29th, and 30th, 2025 in Kano State.

The communique stated:

“The Forum, in collaboration with the National Working Committee (NWC) and other relevant party organs, has resolved to convene a NEC meeting on May 27, 2025. It will also establish a Zoning Committee to handle all matters concerning the zoning of party offices and conduct an early national convention scheduled for August 28–30, 2025, in the historic city of Kano.”

The Forum further recommended the formation of both the Zoning Committee and National Convention Committee, subject to ratification by the NWC and NEC.

  • Chairman: Governor Douye Diri

  • Vice Chairman: Governor Dauda Lawal

  • Secretary: Governor Caleb Mutfwang

• National Convention Committee:

  • Chairman: Governor Ahmadu Fintiri

  • Vice Chairman: Governor Ademola Adeleke

  • Secretary: Governor Peter Mbah
