As reported by the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), the decision was announced in a statement issued on Wednesday.

This directive entails the immediate enforcement of revised procurement thresholds across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), emphasizing the prioritization of locally made products.

The move follows the recommendation of the Director General of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), Dr. Adebowale Adedokun, and aligns with the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

According to the presidency, implementation guidelines will be outlined by Dr. Adedokun, who also serves as the DG of BPP.

It will be recalled that on May 3, 2025, President Tinubu ordered a ban on the importation of foreign products, particularly those that can be sufficiently manufactured within Nigeria.
