In a statement released on Friday, May 30, 2025, through his Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, Governor Okpebholo said the APC’s continued victories have brought renewed hope and celebration among Edo residents.

The statement followed a jubilant motorcade through Benin City, led by the Governor and his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, alongside party leaders, youths, traders, and supporters. The rally was held in response to the recent Appeal Court ruling, which upheld APC’s electoral triumph.

The celebration saw residents lining the streets of the state capital in support of the ruling party. Addressing the crowd, Governor Okpebholo attributed APC’s string of legal successes to divine intervention.

“God is in charge of the affairs of Edo State, and He will continue to give victory to the people,” the Governor declared.

Highlighting the PDP’s setbacks, he referenced APC’s wins at the governorship election, the election tribunal, and now at the appellate court. “We defeated them in the governorship election, at the Tribunal, and now at the Appeal Court. We’ll defeat them again at the Supreme Court. The winning will not stop,” he asserted confidently.

Okpebholo further expressed appreciation for the support and development being driven by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, promising that APC’s influence in Edo State is firmly rooted.

“2027 is already settled in Edo. The people will vote for the President again, and no one—not even the PDP—can silence them,” he stated.

He also accused the opposition of attempting to manipulate the judiciary, saying: “All the money they looted from Edo State was taken to court in an attempt to buy judges and judgments, but they failed. The judges stood firm and upheld justice.”

Taking aim at the PDP’s alliances, he dismissed their coalition with figures like Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, declaring that it is bound to collapse.
