Tinubu Will Never Take The Bait – Sanwo-Olu Exposes Why Coalition Plot Will Collapse

Speaking to journalists on Friday, Sanwo-Olu asserted that Nigerians would continue to support President Tinubu in order to fully reap the benefits of his bold reform initiatives.

Nigerians are not going back to Egypt,” the governor declared. “This coalition’s goal is to distract the Commander-in-Chief and derail the visible social and economic progress. But President Tinubu is politically savvy and will never fall for such bait.”

Sanwo-Olu maintained that the President’s record, visionary reforms, and leadership credentials are more than sufficient to withstand attempts to undermine his administration or 2027 re-election prospects.

He pointed to ongoing progress such as a stabilising foreign exchange market, the student loan programme, major infrastructure projects, higher revenues for states post-subsidy removal, tax and wage reforms, and increased oil production.

“President Tinubu is not just a nation builder, but a visionary whose leadership is leaving a tangible impact across the country,” Sanwo-Olu said.

When asked whether the Tinubu administration or the All Progressives Congress (APC) was concerned about the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and its allies, he responded, “There’s no reason to be alarmed or distracted by ADC or any such group. The facts are clear, Nigerians can see the difference. These groups are held together not by vision but by shared resentment of President Tinubu. That’s not a foundation that lasts—they’ll eventually fizzle out.”

On what advice he would give the President, Sanwo-Olu stated: “It’s simple—stay the course. Millions of Nigerians across political lines trust his leadership and are committed to seeing the nation recover and thrive. The mission should remain focused on results, reform, and building a stronger Nigeria. Any attempt to destabilize that foundation will fail.”
