Renowned publisher of Ovation Magazine and former presidential aspirant, Dele Momodu, has officially announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a strongly-worded letter addressed to his Ward Chairman, Momodu expressed deep disappointment with the direction of the once-vibrant opposition party. He described the PDP as “a carcass” that has been taken over by anti-democratic elements, both internally and externally.

“My decision is simple and clear. The PDP has been blatantly hijacked by undemocratic forces, in full view of the public,” Momodu wrote. “It is far more honourable to walk away from the ruins of the party and join hands with a new, purposeful political movement.”

Momodu revealed his alignment with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stating that a growing number of former PDP members are gravitating towards the party in hopes of building a more credible alternative.

He ended his resignation letter with a heartfelt note to his ward leadership:

“I will always value the unwavering support you’ve given me over the years.”

Momodu’s exit came just hours after former Vice President Atiku Abubakar also announced his departure from the PDP.

In his own resignation letter to the PDP Chairman of Jada 1 Ward in Adamawa State, Atiku cited the party’s deviation from its founding ideals as the primary reason for his exit.

“It is with deep regret that I formally resign my membership of the Peoples Democratic Party, effective immediately. Despite the great opportunities I’ve had within the party—serving as Vice President for two terms and twice being its presidential candidate—I can no longer ignore the party’s current direction, which no longer aligns with its founding vision,” Atiku wrote.

He concluded by wishing the party success moving forward and expressing gratitude for the roles he was privileged to play under its platform.
