Speaking in an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, the 56-year-old actress explained that her passion gradually shifted from acting to producing, which she found more fulfilling.
“I left acting when I realised I got more satisfaction from producing. Acting became boring. People tried to make it seem like my husband banned me from acting — they wanted something dramatic, but that simply wasn’t the case,” she stated.
Ego Boyo rose to fame in the early 1990s with her iconic role in the hit TV series Checkmate, having started her entertainment career in the 1980s. Since leaving acting, she has dedicated her time to film production and other creative endeavors behind the scenes.
Addressing longstanding rumors about her husband’s involvement in her career shift, Boyo dismissed them as false, emphasizing that such claims were fabricated to attract attention.
