Human Rights Lawyer Reveals Sh*cking Reason Behind Special Handling Of KWAM1 Saga

Speaking in an interview with Channels TV, Effiong dismissed KWAM1’s public apology as insincere, arguing that if apologies were enough to secure freedom, every inmate in Nigerian custodial centres would gladly offer one.

He insisted that KWAM1’s actions constituted a criminal offence and that he should face trial. Drawing a comparison, Effiong noted that if this approach were to be applied consistently, then convicted kidnapper Evans — who has also apologised for his crimes — should equally be released.

The lawyer further claimed that KWAM1’s boldness in allegedly threatening the owner of ValueJet stemmed from his deep connections with influential figures.

“I doubt there’s any inmate in Kirikiri who wouldn’t apologise if it meant being set free,” Effiong said. “If Nigeria now sets people free for breaking the law simply because they apologised, then all citizens should be granted the same privilege.

“What KWAM1 did is unacceptable. Do you know why he was so audacious? Because he’s a friend of the President, connected to the high and mighty. There’s even an audio circulating where he allegedly threatened the airline owner. What gives him that boldness? It’s because impunity has become our national culture.”
