Drama Unfolds As Wike’s Aide Lere, Rufai Of Arise TV Lock Horns Online
Lere Olayinka, media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and Arise TV anchor, Rufai Oseni, engaged in a heated exchange on Facebook Saturday over allegations of questionable land allocations in Abuja.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The drama started after Rufai shared a purported document on his Facebook page alleging that Wike had allocated lands to his children and other relatives. He directly called out Lere, accusing him of maintaining silence on the matter and daring him to address the allegations.
Rufai wrote:
“Since the revelation of the land allocation story by the FCT minister, his media aide has been quiet. I challenge his media handlers to react. I am ready to give them a platform.”
In a sharp rebuttal, Lere fired back at the journalist, dismissing him with ridicule. He wrote:
“I don’t react to someone who should be in Arise News producing a documentary on animals. Besides, which platform will you give me? Are you the owner of Arise News? Rest.”
Unfazed, Rufai countered, insisting Lere was dodging the real issue.
“I thought you would kindly address the allegations instead of deflecting. The world is watching. Speak to the matter and take a position.”
But Lere doubled down with another scathing remark:
“I don’t respond to those who should be in the zoo, feeding animals, abeg.”
