Former Campaign Director-General of the Labour Party in the just concluded general election, Doyin Okupe’s old tweet of him hailing the former Lagos State Governor, Tinubu’s political sagacity surfaces the internet.

Okupe served as a campaign DG to Peter Obi of the Labour Party in the 2023 presidential election. He stepped down as DG after suspension which was caused by alleged money laundering of over 2o million late last year. He was convicted by the court but with an option to pay 13 million fine.

In an old tweet his 28th March 2021 where he foresaw the future of Bola Tinubu being a formidable opposition in the 2023 presidential race, he also claimed that he trusts Tinubu irrespective of him belonging to the All Progressive Congress.

In his words he said;

“Besides this, I personally see Bola Tinubu as a formidable opponent in the 2023 presidential race. ”

“Asiwaju is one of the most politically sagacious politician in this period. His acumen & administrative competence are worthy of commendation.”

“In summary, Asiwaju would be a good president.”
