2027 Presidency: Goodluck Jonathan’s Cousin Finally Breaks Silence On His Political Ambition
Azibaola Robert, a cousin of former President Goodluck Jonathan, has denied reports suggesting that the ex-president has ruled himself out of the 2027 presidential election.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The clarification followed claims that Jonathan had stepped aside from the race to protect Southern unity.
Although Jonathan has not formally declared his ambition, there have been strong indications that he is consulting across the country as part of moves toward a possible comeback bid.
In a statement shared via his verified Facebook page on Friday, Robert insisted that Jonathan has never issued any statement suggesting he would not contest in 2027.
Robert further stressed that Jonathan has made it clear he would not be swayed by those urging him not to contest, insisting such calls were driven by selfish motives.
He concluded that the former president has neither confirmed nor ruled out his participation in the 2027 elections.
“He has not told anyone that he will not contest when the time for election is ripe. Any claim to the contrary should be disregarded,” Robert stated.
