Sh*ck In Anambra! Police Bust Illegal Factory Churning Out Toxic Fake Drinks, One Suspect Nabbed
The Anambra State Police Command has uncovered and shut down an illegal factory producing toxic counterfeit soft drinks branded as “Iyi Obeleagu Ogbanje Juice” in Okpoko, Ogbaru Local Government Area.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The operation was carried out on September 3, 2025, by operatives of the Command’s Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu.
According to the Command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, who issued a statement on Sunday, September 7, one suspect identified as 48-year-old Chigozie Okafor was arrested during the raid, and several cartons of the fake drinks were recovered.
“The suspect was apprehended for manufacturing and distributing fake juice products branded as ‘Iyi Obeleagu Juice’ without approval from the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC). These products are extremely harmful to both adults and children,” Ikenga stated.
He added that the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has ordered a comprehensive investigation to track down other accomplices and ensure they are brought to justice.
The CP further warned criminals engaging in such activities to desist immediately, stressing that the Command remains committed to safeguarding public health.
