2027 Warning Shot: Ajibade Tells PDP “Forget Victory With A Divided House

The National Legal Adviser of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kamaldeen Ajibade, has warned that the party risks losing the 2027 presidential election if it fails to urgently resolve its internal rifts and restore unity.

Speaking at the PDP National Restoration Movement Summit in Abuja, Ajibade emphasized that only a united PDP could provide Nigerians with a credible alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

“A fractured PDP cannot heal a fractured nation. Until we restore internal harmony and genuine democracy, we cannot convincingly present ourselves as the alternative Nigeria desperately needs,” he declared.

The party’s legal adviser cautioned that unresolved disputes could resurface ahead of the next election, undermining the PDP’s ability to challenge the APC.

Ajibade reminded members of the PDP’s legacy in governance, citing democratic consolidation, foreign investment, and reforms in telecommunications, banking, and pensions under former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

“These are achievements we must not allow internal wrangling to erase,” he said.

Urging members to put aside selfish ambitions, Ajibade stressed: “A house divided against itself cannot stand. A divided PDP cannot win elections. A divided PDP cannot save Nigeria.”

He added that unity demands sacrifice and placing the nation above personal ambition, warning that ambition becomes destructive when it threatens the very survival of the party.

The summit ended with renewed calls for reconciliation among aggrieved factions as the PDP intensifies preparations for 2027.
