In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described Ms. Maduagwu’s death as a heartbreaking loss. He received with profound sorrow the news that the talented Arise News anchor was killed during an armed robbery at her residence in Katampe, Abuja.

The statement further confirmed that the President has directed security and law enforcement agencies to conduct a swift and thorough investigation into the incident, ensuring that the perpetrators are apprehended and brought to justice.

“Ms. Maduagwu was a gifted journalist whose life was cruelly and unjustly cut short. Security and law enforcement agencies must carry out a prompt investigation and ensure the offenders face justice without delay,” the statement read.

President Tinubu also extended his sympathies to the grieving family and reassured Nigerians that his administration remains committed to safeguarding the lives of all citizens and strengthening measures to combat crime in all its forms.

The 29-year-old news anchor tragically died in the early hours of Monday following the attack at her home in Katampe, Abuja.
