Popular Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has pleaded with Nigerians to stop insulting her mother, Rita Daniels, over her ongoing marital crisis with her billionaire husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Regina’s family had earlier accused Nwoko of orchestrating the arrest of her brother, Samuel Daniels (Sammy West), and allegedly vowing not to release him until she returns home and undergoes rehabilitation.

The family rift deepened after a viral video surfaced showing Regina tearfully claiming she was being assaulted by her husband — an allegation Nwoko has denied, insisting instead that the actress is battling substance abuse.

Following the controversy, several social media users blamed Regina’s mother for “allowing” her daughter to marry the politician.

However, in an emotional video shared via her Instagram page, the mother of two defended her mother, stating that Rita Daniels should not be blamed for her choices.

According to her, her family had strongly opposed the marriage, but she defied them because she was “madly in love.”

Regina revealed that she even ran away from home in the middle of the night, determined to marry Nwoko despite her family’s objections.

“The main reason I made this video is to beg everyone — please stop insulting my mom,” she said tearfully.
“She’s the best thing that ever happened to me. My mother is my god on earth. She warned me. My brothers warned me. Everybody warned me. But I was stubborn.”

The actress dismissed claims that her mother forced her into the marriage for money, stressing that her family was financially stable before she met Nwoko.

“People say I married out of greed, but that’s not true. We were not broke. What amount of money could make a mother sell her child — the same child who was providing for the entire family?” she said.
“I was a blessing to my mother. God used me to settle her. It’s my duty to make her happy forever, and I won’t let anyone drag her name.”

Recalling the intensity of her decision, Regina admitted that she once contemplated taking her own life when her family tried to stop her from marrying Nwoko.

“I drove out that night, ready to kill myself if I couldn’t marry him. My family was looking for me everywhere. My brothers were fighting, breaking bottles. I even went to the police station and said, ‘Arrest me — my family doesn’t want me to marry the love of my life.’”

She concluded by reaffirming that despite everything that has happened, her mother remains her biggest supporter and the strongest woman she knows.

“Please, stop insulting my mother. She’s the best woman on earth. She tried her best — the rest was my choice,” Regina said.
