While acknowledging Wike’s notable achievements in expanding road networks and reviving abandoned infrastructure projects, Ajayi stressed that the growing piles of refuse require the minister’s immediate intervention.
He wrote:
“My Matter of Particular Concern (MPC) is the current state of waste management and disposal in Abuja.
“Something is clearly wrong with waste collection in the city and it needs urgent attention.
“Refuse is taking over Abuja. Minister Wike should address this without delay. We commend his visible achievements in road expansion and the revival of abandoned projects.
“But he must now act swiftly to prevent a public health crisis, as mounting heaps of waste and foul stench are overwhelming public spaces.”
