Fake Faction Allegations Debunked — Accord Party Confirms Gov Adeleke’s Membership
The leadership of the Accord Party (AP) has dismissed reports of internal disputes, labeling them as baseless fabrications spread by “political jobbers” and desperate opposition forces.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In a statement issued by Hon. Oke Rotimi Michael, Spokesperson for the Forum of State Chairmen (South West) and Chairman of Accord in Ogun State, the party reiterated that its National Chairman, Maxwell Mgbudem, has not been suspended, contrary to widespread online claims.
He stated, “The rumours circulating that our National Chairman, Mr. Maxwell Mgbudem, Esq., has been suspended are completely false. During the National Executive Committee meeting held on 3rd December 2025, a vote of confidence was passed for the National Chairman and the entire National Working Committee. At no point was any disciplinary action taken against Mr. Mgbudem, as has been falsely reported.”
Hon. Oke added, “Accord remains a law-abiding and constitutionally-guided party. No baseless allegation can create chaos within our ranks.”
The party also rejected misleading statements from former Presidential Candidate Prof. Chris Imumolen. A faction reportedly led by Imumolen had criticized Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke’s defection to Accord, calling it a “back-door entry” and questioning its legitimacy.
However, Hon. Oke clarified that Prof. Imumolen was formally expelled from the party for repeated anti-party conduct, including attempting to assume unauthorized leadership roles, trying to hijack party structures, forcefully entering the national secretariat in 2024, and creating internal confusion by disregarding party procedures. “Given this record, it is absurd that an expelled member presumes to speak for the party. Any statements from his camp are invalid and do not represent Accord,” he said.
Pastor Victor Akande, Accord’s State Chairman in Osun, also refuted the claims against the party and Governor Adeleke. He confirmed that Adeleke formally joined Accord on 6th November 2025, received public recognition on 9th December 2025, and emerged as the valid winner of the party’s governorship primary on 10th December 2025.
Pastor Akande further challenged other political parties to focus on their achievements rather than spreading misinformation on social media. “Elections are not won on social media. Those serious about competing should demonstrate their achievements. Osun State is Accord, and Accord is Osun State,” he asserted.
