Temi Otedola Opens Up: Why Our Court Wedding Didn’t Happen In Nigeria
Billionaire’s daughter Temi Otedola and singer Mr Eazi have opened up about the challenges and disagreements they faced while planning their weddings, shedding light on why they chose not to have a court wedding in Nigeria.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In a recent podcast, the couple revealed that they organised three weddings in three different countries over the span of three months—a process they described as extremely stressful. With events lined up back-to-back, the planning proved far more demanding than they had anticipated.
Temi shared that their initial plan was to hold a simple court wedding in Nigeria. However, they quickly realized that privacy would be nearly impossible, as such an event was likely to draw significant public attention. This concern led them to reconsider their options.
They even explored having a private civil ceremony at home, conducted by court officials. While Temi liked the idea, Mr Eazi was hesitant, prompting them to consider other alternatives. One option was a court wedding in the United Kingdom, but Temi felt it lacked a personal connection.
After careful thought, the couple ultimately chose Monaco for their civil wedding, a location Temi said felt meaningful to both of them. She also admitted that she initially thought marriage was simply about making a decision and signing papers, only to discover it involved extensive paperwork and coordination.
The couple later held a private wedding ceremony at Hallgrimskirkja Church in Reykjavik, Iceland.
Reflecting on the experience, Temi said: “Three weddings in three months is insane. If we went to the courthouse in Nigeria, it wouldn’t be as private as we wanted. I thought getting married was just deciding and signing papers. I didn’t know there was a mountain of administration.”
