Gombe Governor Fires Four Aides After Sh*cking Video Shows Councillor Assault

According to a statement from the Director-General of Press Affairs, Government House, Ismaila Uba Misilli, the special committee tasked with probing the incident found all four aides culpable.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, confirmed the affected aides as Adamu Abdullahi Danko (Senior Special Assistant II, Domestic), Garba Mohammed Mai Rago (Senior Special Assistant II, Political), Rabiu Sulaiman Abubakar (Senior Special Assistant II, Social Media), and Ali Ibrahim Baban Kaya (Senior Special Assistant II, Community Relations).

The committee’s findings, which were supported by reports from security agencies, guided Governor Yahaya’s decision. All dismissed aides have been instructed to immediately return any government property in their possession to the relevant authorities.

“Governor Inuwa Yahaya reaffirmed his administration’s zero tolerance for violence, misconduct, and abuse of office, emphasizing that actions threatening public peace or undermining confidence in government will not be condoned,” the statement read.

He assured residents of Gombe State of his administration’s commitment to the rule of law, accountability, and peaceful coexistence, noting that decisive measures will always be taken to maintain public order and protect the state’s hard-earned stability.
