In a series of Instagram Story posts on Saturday, MC Fish disclosed that Anita Joseph initiated their relationship, which eventually led to marriage. He dismissed claims that he was financially dependent on the actress, stating that he has worked as a master of ceremonies and hypeman for over 15 years.

He also refuted assertions that Anita singlehandedly shouldered the financial responsibilities during their five-year marriage, insisting that he contributed meaningfully and earned his own income throughout the relationship.

MC Fish further defended the hypeman profession, expressing frustration over what he described as public disrespect for the craft. He pointed out the irony of critics who deride hypemen yet regularly hire them for events and parties. According to him, if there had been no future in his line of work, Anita Joseph would not have agreed to marry him.

Addressing the controversy, he warned against spreading false narratives about his role in the marriage, stressing that he had remained silent to maintain peace but would not tolerate lies or misrepresentation.
